This is like a little brother to the south of the higher Nyika Plateau but still reaches 2000m with very similar vegetation augmented by vast sweep of pine plantation. The excellent Luwawa Forest Lodge is tucked away near the Luwawa dam and is very eco-tourism oriented. The two Kazito Resthouses offer excellent value simple accommodation facilities for travellers on the M1 over the plateau
