Lifupa Lodge is set right on the edge of the lake, offering wonderful game viewing opportunities when animals come to drink (often walking through the camp en route).

The recently rebuilt lodge offers visitors excellent facilities, a swimming pool, shop and bar. Rondavels with private balconies overlooking the lake, a central deck with its amazing game-viewing and superb food make the lodge a very attractive option. Close by is a much simpler campsite, which offers self-catering for the more independent minded.

In the town of Kasungu, just off the main north-south highway there are several budget places to stay - the professionally run Kasungu Inn offers the most attractive option.
