Nkhata Bay
Njaya Lodge - situated on a wooded hill overlooking beautiful Chikale Beach, Njaya Lodge is one of Malawi's best kept secrets. Described as "legendary" by the Lonely Planet Guide, Njaya attracts traveller and tourists in search of a beautiful but affordable retreat in which to unwind. Accommodation ranges from rustic "thai style" chalets to fully furnished garden cottages suitable for families.
Dive schools including Aqua Africa, offer one of the cheapest and most effective ways to get a PADI Open Water diving certificate.

Chintheche beaches
If almost deserted white sand beaches are your idea of heaven, then the camps and resorts built in this area south of the little village of Chintheche are for you
Places to stay include: Chintheche Inn, Nkhwazi Lodge, Flame Tree Lodge, Makuzi Beach, Sambani Lodge and Kande Beach Resort.

Dwangwa
Miles and miles of sugar fields surround this little town. There is a private club where accommodation can be booked, and Ngala lodge with a good restaurant, bar and pool.

Nkhotakota
The Illala calls at this little port too - once a centre of the slave trade - and there is plenty of fishing activity. Some 15km south of Nkhotakota Njobvu Safari Lodge and Sani beach offer a tourist standard of accommodation and cuisine. The proprietor of Njobvu also offers escorted tours into Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, where elephant are commonly seen.
